Runes

Inspired to connect with our ancestors of the north, we made our own set of runes on 21 December 2020, when our baby girl Runa was 5 months old. Her name in itself is connected with the runes, as Runa means “mystery,” among other things. My dad is a lifelong woodworker and has saved wood for decades, always collecting special pieces that would have been thrown out otherwise. 

These current sets are made from Pacific NW cedar wood that he salvaged. It is light, layered, aromatic, and of the heart. The runes come in an organic cotton bag, hand stamped with a custom stamp that we made. You will also receive a Rune Key with keywords for each rune symbol to start you on your journey of meaning and interpretation.

Of course, each rune speaks to us in its own way, and the journey with them will extend throughout the rest of our lives once a set is adopted. By acquiring a set, you are opening yourself up to the language of the runes, the language of mystery and of nature, within and without. The runes can be collaborated with for guidance, for divination, for direction, for insight. They are beings in themselves, and their shapes are embedded in nature. They each have their own sound, song, and dynamic embodiment to be discovered. 

It is an honor to create these runes for you. In the notes field at checkout, please do let us know your intentions for your set, and we will infuse them into the process. Each rune set comes with an official certificate and is numbered in it’s order of creation, as well as the season it was created in and any other pertinent notes.
